South Neighborhood

What You’ll Fall in Love With.

The neighborhood is characterized by its recreational activities with the Chuckanut Mountains to the South and its many lakes, creeks, and trails that scatter the neighborhood. If a scenic drive is your cup of tea, take Chuckanut Drive up to Larabee State Park, sample the oysters, or drive down to Skagit County to see the tulips in the summer. Whatever your desire, in this neighborhood the recreational options are endless.

Market.

South Bellingham has very few developments with smaller pockets of residential housing. The northern section of the neighborhood is characterized by multifamily housing and single-family housing units with a small section of commercial property in the northeast corner. The rest of the neighborhood is residential pockets with open spaces scattered throughout. Much of the neighborhood is undeveloped and property can be rare in this neighborhood.

What to Expect.

Planning for the neighborhood is limited and expectations are that with physical limitations South Bellingham should keep its spread-out natural charm for many years to come.

Real Talk.

Public sewer can be limited in this neighborhood. Excluding some portions adjacent to Chuckanut Drive or the northernmost part of the neighborhood many homes are on septic tanks.
